If you haven’t played Pong before, there is nothing I can say to you. Except, possibly – Why? Here is another version of the video game classic from generations gone by.
Keeping the flashiness simple and every other thing in the game simple, you are the paddle on the left side of the screen while your opponent is on the right. Using all your up-and-down moving skills, you must outwit the enemy and destroy him.
Fortunately for your aide you are given a few ways in which to dispatch your rectangular foe. You each have a shield as long as the playing field – and each of you can knock sections of it out if you hit the enemies’ with the ball. This affords you two opportunities for victory: either hit the ball behind the enemy or you can shoot it with your guns (which fire with a click of the mouse).
It’s about as simple as any Pong game I’ve ever seen, with its no-nonsense graphics and, well, nothing else really – it still manages to be bizarrely captivating. Drawing on the enemies unwillingness to be anywhere except where the ball is, it presents a wall of difficulty masked by a cloak of simplicity. Something like that, anyway. It’s Pong with guns. Paddle and shoot away.
