If you haven't noticed it before, I'm a bit of a sucker for neat little puzzle games. Whether its something more arcade like Bubble Blower or something else which requires nothing more than thought. If its neat, well presented and can be picked up with ease, then I'm all over it.
Such is the case with the delightfully minimalist Rainpaper. The easiest - though completely inaccurate - way of describing it, would be as Pipe Dream in reverse. The basic idea of the game is: you have a grid. When you put down a piece, the direction the lines face, they open up where you can put the next piece. You can't point two lines at each other, but you have to compile the pieces in such a way that no line points to empty space.
In the developers own words "if you haven't played Rainpaper, you haven't played Rainpaper, simply put" and it really is like that. My description fails to highlight either the nuances or the simplicity of the game - which are both evident within a short period of play. There is an explanation of how things work as soon as you load it up, so there is nothing to worry about. Needless to say this is a recommended game, both for its original gameplay and its gorgeous layout.
