An arena shooter of galactic proportions which takes place on a microscopic level.
As it has been pointed out recently, the arena shooter is a genre which gets a lot of attention from the freeware community. Recent freeware shooters in the genre have blitzed across the internet and become hits of their own right, virtually striking the side-scrolling shooter dead. Another nail in the coffin comes with this stunning and original arena based Project Microlife.
Being given a galactic sized quest is not unreasonable in a game. Save the world, save the galaxy, save humanity – it all becomes a bit tedious after a while. There is always some spider invasion, UFO invaders from mars or whatever which will enslave or destroy humanity. Overlooked, though not completely without possibility, is the microscopic germs carried by humans or aliens will not be compatible with the invaders’ who will simply drop dead.
Fortunately for Earth, a defence has been constructed – a tiny, microscopic defender who will enter the bloodstream and conquer the invaders – the horrifying germ army. Those unseeable monsters that reside inside us and wage war with our bodies have now got to stand up against the Project. So take control, strap in, shoot spectacularly away and take no prisoners. The entire fate of humanity rests in your bloodstream.
