In this neon styled shmup, guide your humble ship through waves of beautiful enemy bullets.
Another one of the scrolling shooters from Kenta Cho (ABA Games) which follows the same formula for intense fun as his others. Namely, fast action, loads of enemies and a glorious smattering of neon coloured abstract graphics.
Parsec47 puts you in control of the ever popular "good guy" whose mission it is to blast away at the enemies. The underlying goal seems to be - get to the zone known as Parsec number 47. On each of the difficulties, your progress is saved automatically every ten levels and a checkpoint set up, for easy continuation.
There are two modes to play in, both essentially the same. The first gives you an alternate weapon which you can charge up. Holding X while firing (with Z) increases the power of your initial fire. Holding X by itself shoots a charged up cannon with the ability to destroy several enemies at once. The second mode gives your alternate weapon the ability to fire rockets directly at the strongest on-screen enemy.
Even without the goal of reaching Parsec whatever, this game is a lot of fun. A lot. It plays intense, it looks fantastic, everything moves really well and is just amazing for a free game. Recommended.
